About Kiyo

Kiyo’s career lies in the software industry by profession, but takes on other creative paths such as photography, cosplay, fashion modeling, life coaching, and acting outside of it. He is most notably known for his cosplay portrayals as Shirogane “Shiro” Takeshi from Netflix’s Voltron, Hanzo Shimada from Overwatch, and Young Jiraiya from Naruto.

He’s a very big advocate for health and fitness in the cosplay community. Kiyo created a popular challenge in the community called “Cosplay Body Challenge” most recognized with the tag #cosbodchallenge back in early 2018. In his words he shares, “I created this challenge to promote self-positivity to those in the community with their fitness goals, by sharing the experience with others by taggings friends and anyone else, for a ‘collective’ goal-oriented effort. It’s a fun way of creating your own community to work out together, while striving to achieve your fitness goals.”

In 2017 he picked up his first camera and worked nonstop to learn the ways of the photographer. He’s worked with a lot of well known cosplayers behind the lens since then, eventually gaining a lot of interest to become a cosplayer himself. Kiyo has attended numerous conventions, mostly working professionally as a photographer. However, he’s known to also be in his cosplay while working the camera.

This is Kiyo’s first time hosting a panel, and in his words he says, “I’m really looking forward to speaking with you all. Let’s have a great time!”

Come and see Kiyo during PMX weekend, November 21 & 22.
